Accessory Storage…aka: so many earrings, so little space.
I mostly tend towards wearing solid colors- I’m working away from the gravitational pull to black after so long working in entertainment production. Because of that- & shifting sizes pretty consistently- I’ve taken to collecting wearable art as mementos in my travels & as another way to support fellow artists. That lens has led to quite the earring (& ring… & scorpion belt buckle…yup) collection.
Having a total of one closet in a cozy studio apartment with very tall ceilings, wall storage is the most reliable answer to all of my space challenges.
Pair that with my up-for-debate “Pants are for suckers” viewpoint, I have a lot of holey tights from all of the dresses & skirts I’ve worn while climbing around trucks & through storage areas. Instead of having them oh-so-slowly break down into microplastics, why not re-purpose them utilizing their stretch & pierce-ability!
I started out by making stretcher-bar frames, a la the back of a canvas frame & then it hit me that there are nekked frames in need of saving from landfills! (Add it to the treasure questing list!). All items can then be considered saved from landfills!
Each frame has it’s own style & feel. They each have their own personalities. There are so many different ways to weave & knot materials & every material behaves a bit differently allowing for endless feels & possibilities perfect for any & all spaces.
